| How to conduct it | This exercise requires at least three tables, and that all trainees are separated in small groups for each table. Each table has a moderator that asks specific questions to the group (previously prepared) related to aspects to consider regarding the learner centered approach, its advantages for learning and and how it can be promoted in classroom with their learners. To carry out this Word Café meeting, 5 rules must be complied: 1. Setting a welcoming environment, provided with the essential material (e.g. paper, pencils, sticky notes, etc.) 2. Welcome and introduction to the session 3. Constitutions of small group rounds (every 10 minutes, the groups must change tables and be asked another round of questions to which they must provide different answers from the ones provided by the previous group) 4. Design of powerful questions (the moderator of each table has a list of questions to ask regarding the topic for discussion) 5. Harvest insights and results (these insights and results will help all participating trainees to understand how they can implement a learner-centered approach training and its advantages to learners). At the end of all rounds, the moderators of each table will present the main results from the discussions held in each table and invite all trainees to discuss them. |
