Objective Demonstration of different learning styles
How to conduct it Operationalization:
Provide each participant with 3 sheets of blank paper.
Have them clear their desk except for 1 piece of paper oriented in the portrait position.
Round 1 – Auditory Read the directions verbatim from the instructions. Do not elaborate or use any gestures. Observe to see which participants can complete the task.
Round 2 – Visual Using a second piece of paper, ask the participants to try again. This time give them the printed instructions with written directions and diagrams. Again, observe which participants can complete the task successfully.
Round 3 – Kinaesthetic Using the third piece of paper, ask the participants to try one more time. This time demonstrate the step-by-step procedure and allow them to follow along with you as you make the various folds to create the airplane.
Round 4 – With appropriate safety measures, fly the airplanes! Have the students reflect on their work and tell which plane was the most successful and why.
Preparation: Prepare the auditory and visual instructions and 3 blank sheets of paper
Closing remarks This version of the exercise is better suited for older participants as the instructions are slightly more complicated. However, it can be adapted to any age. There are many different examples available on the internet
