Objective For trainees:
· to receive relevant information regarding the general structure of an LMS that can be used in training of welders
· to ensure the accumulation of digital skills that are necessary for the use of an LMS as a teaching tool
· to receive relevant information on how to use an LMS in training of welders
How to conduct it Connecting to topic – 5 min
1. The trainer introduces in brief the tasks of the workshop
Interaction – 10 min
1. The trainer facilitates the involvement of the trainees by presenting short videos in which to show several elements of teaching that are improved by using an LMS as teaching tool
2. The trainer asks the trainees if they used such tool and encourages them to share in few words their expertise.
3. Open discussion is encouraged by the trainer
Topics detailing - Brief presentation of the digital tools, both hardware and software types – 10 min
1. Trainer gives mini lesson to clarify:
· What is an LMS and what is the general structure of an LMS?
· What content is appropriate for an LMS?
· How to structure an LMS starting with the platforms that facilitates the building of an LMS (as Moodle, or else)?
· How to involve an LMS in a teaching process? Topics to discuss:
· The general structure of an LMS as a digital tool
· Building content for an LMS.
Exercise – Case study – 15 min
1. The trainer creates 5 groups of max 3 participants
2. Each group is invited to analyse a specific component of an LMS and to share their comments on its structure and what should be improved for a better teaching process.
3. The trainer will encourage the critical analysis
Closing remarks Closing – 5 min 1. Trainer makes short review of discussions 2. Trainer presents relevant conclusions
